Yom Yerushalayim, also known as Jerusalem Day, commemorates Jerusalem’s reunification in 1967 and is celebrated in countless ways, not only in Jerusalem but throughout Israel and around the world. One of the most religiously significant events was the completion of the writing of a Sefer Torah ( ספר תורה – Torah Scroll ) by close friends, honoring their return to Jerusalem.
