TAJ MAHAL FROM A DISTANCE
One of the world’s most admired architectural masterpieces, the Taj Mahal, is a white marble mausoleum built by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1630, in memory of his wife Mumtāz Mahal.
When Shah Jahan decided to build another mausoleum, this time in black marble, for himself, he was deposed and restrained by his son, Aurangze, in Agra Fort. Shah Jahan died in Muasamman Burj, a tower within the fort with a view of the Taj Mahal.
The above picture was taken from the Shah’s bedroom and the Taj Mahal seen in an early morning mist, was likely the last view the Shah had of this magnificent building.
Excellent picture. Great Post.
