When there is a fight between natural forces and man-made objects, nature most often wins. Nowhere is this more evident than at the Ta Prohm Temple in Angkor Cambodia. Built in 1186 CE the temple was abandoned and left to the forces of the jungle that surrounded it. Towering trees, called Strangler Figs, threw down their vines and over the centuries have taken over the complex by overpowering the structural integrity of walls and complete buildings. Nature won.
