In the heart of Jerusalem, overlooking the Old City and close to the German Colony and Yemin Moshe, lies the first train station of Jerusalem. Built in 1892, it served as the city’s main transportation route until 1998, when it was closed to train traffic and left abandoned and neglected. After years of work to preserve the façade of the Old Train Station building and transform the space, “First Station” opened in April 2013 with restaurants, cafes, markets and events every day of the week. It has become a dynamic hub for young and old, tourists and residents. Want to take a stroll, meet friends for a great meal, listen to music or just watch the parade of people passing by? This is the place for you.
